Bryton is 1 Month Old

This past week Bryton turned one month old. I am shocked about how fast time is going by. He had a great doctor's appointment on Thursday and he is looking very healthy and happy. He weighed in at 8 pounds 6 ounces and is 21 inches long. He is in the 10-25% for weight and height and his noggin is in the 60%. He is continuing to be more awake and do amazing things. I have been having him work on his tummy time in his crib (out of harm's way) and he keeps rolling back over to his back. He then starts crying because it scares him :( Bryton did smile for the first time on Sunday (Feb. 24th) and I will try and catch a picture of it soon. He has dimples!

He has begun to lose his hair and is looking like a cute little old man.

Just flexing for you.

Wide Eyed

We are basically back to our normal routine with Annabel and she is definitely enjoying our time out and about. This week we went to her little gym, Tot Time at Chick Fil A, two play dates at friend's houses,  and a couple story times. Things are definitely calmer if we can get out of the house. I will say we are now running a little late to everything, so I will need to work on planning to leave a little earlier to places. Annabel has begun to play well with other children and this week she did not need me attached to her hip as much. She is becoming more comfortable with her friends and they are breaking her shy exterior.

This is Annabel playing with her good friend Elizabeth. They have so much fun together and love playing with the same things. Annabel is normally very shy with me, but if she see's Elizabeth trying something she will then try it too.

Annabel loving Bob the Builder.

Annabel has been very kind to Bryton this week. She rocks him in the Rock N Play, gives him his paci and lion, hands me things I need for him, looks for him in the morning, and kisses him good night each night. This almost made me cry the other night. Annabel was watching her show before bed and she sat next to Bryton on his play mat and held his hand. She then gave him his paci when he started to cry.

We had a very good week and we are looking forward to next week when daddy has two days off of work.
She loves her mommy's shoes. She puts these same ones on everyday.

"Mom"

Bryton is 3 weeks old and getting bigger by the minute. I wish time would stand still, so I can savor all the little memories. He is still sleeping a majority of the time, but his awake times are getting longer. Our nights have become adventures; whether it is Bryton, Annabel, and/or Papi waking us up.

Annabel has been a real hoot this week. She has started to call me "mom." She still uses mommy, but now also refers to me as "mom." It is the weirdest thing to hear and I have no idea where she learned it. Austin and I just look at each and laugh. Her favorite thing to do at night now is to chase Papi with her stroller. Here is a glimpse of our evenings.

This week we tried to get out a little more. On Monday went to a play date with Annabel's friends. The theme of the play date was Toddler Busy Bags. Here is Annabel playing with one of her new bags. This was a great activity for her, until we found her trying to eat the little puff balls.

Annabel and Bryton received Peter Pan for Valentine's day. This is how Annabel watched some of the movie. I am not sure if she was scared or just comfortable.

We discovered a new place to go that has a bunch of indoor swing sets for children to play on and a few other toys. The motorized train was by far her favorite thing to do. She went around and around...many many times!

Bryton is beginning to enjoy playing on his play mat. We practice on his tummy, but it is not his favorite thing.

Annabel loves her baby brother. Sometimes a little too much!

We were all very excited for the weekend to arrive and to have our special time with daddy. On Saturday we went to the library and had a nice lunch out and on Sunday we went to a bounce house. Everyone was on their best behavior.

We love our two little monkeys :)

Week 1 Alone!!!

This was the first week I was alone with two kids and boy oh boy was I tired on Friday night! I fell asleep on the couch at 8:00. Our Pediatrician advised us not to take Bryton out for 2 MONTHS, because of the ramped outbreak of the flu and RSV and we got a little stir crazy. We did manage to go one place each day, but just for a short period of time. We did have one nice day and we had our first walk to the park.

Annabel is really enjoying Bryton and has become my little helper. I was making something in the kitchen earlier in the week and Bryton was crying in his lamb seat, so Annabel went over and put the music and vibration on and he fell asleep immediately. She continuously asks to hold him and has started to give him kisses.

Bryton is a great baby and is starting to wake up a little more during the day.... and night! But basically he sleeps most of the day and night. Today he will be three weeks old and I feel like he has grown so much.

Annabel and I have been doing many art projects and she is really into stickers these days. I think I found an area where we might want to spend some extra time. (I really do like the eyes in the hair.)

I was very happy when the weekend arrived. Here are my loves :)

I am one lucky mommy!

Welcome Bryton!

I decided to start a blog to document the happenings in the crazy Allain household. On January 21, 2013 we welcomed a new addition to our family. Bryton Matthew Allain was born weighing 6 lb. 14.5 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. He is currently a little over two weeks old and I feel like he was just born.

Austin and I are very happy that Bryton is here and we think Annabel is too :)

To our surprise, Annabel really likes having Bryton (or "the baby" as she calls him) here. She looks for him whenever she gets up or if he is in another room. She has had a difficult time with all the change, but we are hoping we are over that hump.

We were lucky to have help these past two weeks, as I was in the hospital and at home recovering from a c-section. Bryton was able to meet his Papa, Mimi, Grandma, and Grandpa all in his first two weeks of life. Annabel was very excited to have some very attentive playmates as well.

Our family of four is now on there own. Yesterday was my first day home with my two little monkeys and it went well. I was ready for bed when Austin came home from work! We are trying to stay home to keep Bryton healthy and Annabel and I are getting a little (or a lot) stir crazy! Here are a couple more pictures until next week.

                                                        Interesting hair in the morning!
