Annabel Starts Preschool!!

My little baby girl started preschool this week. I have been a nervous wreck about the whole thing. I was so nervous about the potty training at school, whether she would behave, whether she would cry the whole time, and whether we would get a call about Annabel getting angry at the other kids for taking "her" toys. She did amazingly well and is very excited about school. There were no tears and no phone calls yet :)  She did come home in a new pair of shorts on the first day, but did much better the second day. I am so proud of her! I know she is only two, but this will be a great experience for her.

Her teachers sent this picture home with her on the first day.

Day 2 - Going to school.
Day 2 - Coming home. She kept giving me this weird look. Like "Hey! I'm too cool for school!"

I cried both days after I dropped her off. I use the carpool line and they come and get her from the car and put her back in at the end of the day. She has been a little confused with that! When we get home, we have lunch together. I ask her all about her day. I cannot wait until she starts talking more about her teachers and her new friends. I am very pleased with the school so far and I think it will be a great year.

Bryton has had a great week. He now has TWO bottom teeth! He is started to reach a little bit more and it is making me nervous. We are not ready for a crawler. Yesterday we were sitting on the couch together and I had Bryton on one side of me and Annabel on the other. Annabel had a baggie of pretzels and Bryton proceeded to lunge over me three times to grab the bag. Here I thought he did not like food, but I am thinking he just wants the good stuff.

He found a new favorite toy.
Standing all by myself!

Today we ended the week with a play date with a couple friends. We are getting our AC worked on again, so they came over to our house. They have so much fun together!

Bryton is 7 Months Old

This week has been very exciting for everyone! Austin's first day of school was Tuesday and it was a huge success. He was pretty stressed out, but happy everything ran smoothly. Bryton turned 7 months old and his first tooth popped through! Lastly, Annabel had preschool orientation and she met her teachers and classmates.

Here is Austin, ready for his first day of school :)

7 months old:  One of his lower teeth popped through. We had no idea! It came as a big surprise to us. He is starting to clap when he gets excited and loves to clap for Annabel. I am not sure he knows what he is doing, but he claps a lot. He is not crawling at all yet, which I am quite happy about, but bounces a lot when he sits. I love how he just sits and plays. Annabel loves to take his toys and this week Bryton has started to get upset when she does it. He cries really hard when she takes them away. It breaks my heart. He is eating "a little" solids, but still enjoys his fingers most. He has tried butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, banana, and oatmeal. He is still wearing 3-6m or 6m clothes.
 He loves to jump.

 He loves to swing.
Play date with his friend Kate.

My sweet Annabel had a big week. She is wearing big girl panties all day, except when she sleeps. She has the occasional accident, but for the most part is doing great! We had a couple play dates with friends at the park. She loves to swing and run around. She even went to the potty at the park. On Wednesday Annabel got a new hair cut. It is pretty short and it gets very curly as the day goes on. I think it gave her a new level of sass. On Thursday, I went to parent orientation for Annabel's preschool. I met her teachers and I am very excited (and sad) for the year to start. On Friday, Annabel went to school with me. We played in her classroom for a little bit and then went out on the playground. She had a tough morning at home before we left, but by the time we were leaving the school she was crying to stay. I think she is going to love it!!

After her haircut before her nap. She sat so still and the hairdresser was even able to straighten her hair.
After her nap. She must have a crazy sleep.
So silly!
Before school. Not too happy about anything.
So happy at school!! I will get more pictures next week.
We are all ready for school on Tuesday. After nap time we went out and bought her new backpack.

Best buds :)

We Are Back!

Sorry I have not posted in a while. Things have been a little crazy around here and time has gotten away from me.  A lot has happened since our last post.

Annabel

Within in the last few weeks, Annabel has seen a lot of change. We finally were able to do away with her paci. After our summer vacation, we started to put holes in her pacis. The holes did not bother her one bit. It got to the point where should could have choked on pieces of the paci, so we cut the tips off. She finally decided that they were broken and they had to go bye bye. She was devastated (and so was mommy!) We both cried the first night :( She has had some play dates with her friends and she went to her dear friends Gracie and Kaiden's birthday parties.  Bryton got Baptized and Annabel was able to meet her cousin Harlan and play with her cousins Peter and Greta. Lastly, we have been bound to our house for a little over a week now.....potty training!! This has been the biggest struggle I have encountered as a parent. I do not wish it upon anyone! We are currently on day 8 or 9 and she is doing better. I am interested to see how she will do when we leave the house.  Annabel starts school in a couple of weeks and I wanted to try and get her potty trained before it started.

 Tough sleep without her paci.
We felt terrible about taking her paci way, we thought it was a perfect time for an ice cream cure :)
Helping mommy with dinner.
Seeing her Godfather during Bryton's Baptism weekend.
Visiting with Uncle Noel. (Fantastic story teller)
Annabel loved her cousin Greta. Greta was teaching her the hula dance.

Here are some pictures from our week at home potty training.

I thought if she would sit there long enough she would go potty......think again!

These have been her friends for the past week. She loves to line things up.

Bryton

Bryton has had a lot of things going on too. He had his 6 month appointment, play dates, he has somewhat started solids, he is sitting up all by himself for long periods of time, he is napping less, clapping a little and he got Baptized. Bryton has also said his first word.....MAMA!!!!

6 month (and 1 week) stats:

Weight: 14 pounds 3 oz. (5%)
Height: 25 3/4 inches (10-25%)
Head Circumference: 17 inches (50%)

The appointment went great and he is one healthy boy!

Play date with Kate (Elizabeth's sister). They matched!
 Just relaxed.
Bryton had a blowout on the way to Cosco. I had to buy him a new outfit and a fleece sleeper was the only thing they had that would fit him. It was 90 degrees out!!
Look at me!
This is how he eats. It takes someone to hold both his hands down, while the other tries to feed him. He is not feeling it yet.

Baptism

Here is a 6 month comparison picture of Bryton and Annabel:
